Here, another promising preview of BANKS' forthcoming full-length debut, Goddess, called "Drowning." The Al Shux-produced song, debuted this afternoon by BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, is, as past releases like "Goddess" and the Shlomo-produced "Brain" are, at once seductive and venomous. It's part bitter missive from a woman scorned (from the girl who made you soup and tied your shoes when you were hurting, you were not deserving), part lovelorn plea (I'm drowning for ya); and it's extra satisfying if you think of it as a response to, say, her former tour-mate the Weeknd. Goddess is out September 9 on Harvest.
