FADER PREMIERE
There's nothing soft or snowy about Norwegian synth-pop duo Soft as Snow. The music they make has an inner strength that curls and coils skyward, shooting lasers into infinity. Or at least that's what "Glass Body," the title track from their debut EP due out via Houndstooth on July 21st, magics up in my mind's eye. There's a touch of Orbital's "Belfast" to their synth lines, which conjoin in an almost obscenely climatic way. A diva vocal would've tipped the scales in the direction of OTT but the casual and cutely hoarse vocal of Soft as Snow's Oda Egjar Starheim balances the high.
