FADER U.S. PREMIERE
With Lana Del Rey's sophomore LP, Ultraviolence, hitting stores in the US next week (and in Australia in just two days, sending Twitter spastic begging for leaks), the label's making a few final pushes, including this official remix of lead single "West Coast." Wiped away is the single's retro genealogy, with Beatles riffs replaced with a properly glam bass groove from LA/SF's Zhu. I think there might be a bit too much instrumental beat work for this to do ever approach "Summer Sadness" numbers, but it's got a similarly charming quality of wait, this was really in there all along? If for some reason you're listening to a Lana Del Rey song on TheFADER.com and haven't yet read our Summer Music issue cover story on the controversial star, kindly open another tab right now.
