Guilt Trips, last year’s debut LP from Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth, saw the self-proclaimed “Remix Ryan Gosling” experimenting with elements of trap, glo-fi, electro pop and hip-hop. But “One For Me,” a languid collaboration with Los Angeles singer Tinashe, is nothing but excellent downtempo R&B. Though it’s been out for eight months, “One For Me” is smooth enough to feel fresh for summer. The music video, released today, features the minutiae of Hemsworth’s daily routine, from screen capping a dog on Skype and playing video games to posting up in green rooms and private helicopters. Hemsworth lives large, but always rolls solo, and Tinashe’s airy vocals support a visual that’s as melancholy as it is monotonous.
