This past Tuesday, psych-rock duo Tonstartssbandht released their new live double-LP, Overseas, which pieces together recordings from their time spent hobbling across Europe. This new live video for "Preston 'Great Ass' I'm Fat" opens with brothers Andy and Edwin White snoozing on a bus, and then captures them performing a scaled-back version of the track at the University of Warsaw using a bunch of borrowed equipment. The footage was filmed by Emily Kai Bock, who we once dubbed a Music Video Director To Watch. The performance is endearingly all over the place, wandering through moments of derelict jamming to hard-earned, folky sweetness and back again. "The audience was small and super attentive, vocal and casual with requests and encouragement," the band said of the performance in Poland. "The show was definitely intimate, full of wonderfully friendly people." Overseas is out now on Company Etc/ Arbutus; the vinyl is almost sold out but Arbutus will be releasing the album digitally with some bonus tracks next week, Tonstartssbandht is playing an album release show at Silent Barn in Brooklyn tonight; check out a few more tour dates below.
