While Pharrell has made himself something of a linchpin in the contemporary pop scheme, his partner in The Neptunes and N.E.R.D. Chad Hugo has mostly chosen to hang back, behind the boards and out of the spotlight. Today, however, he's stepped-up with an excellent remix of Little Dragon -- one of his favorite bands at the moment, supposedly -- single "Killing Me." Subtle and slinky, he's imbued the once brooding Nabuma Rubberband track with a new brightness, kicking up the tempo with four-to-the-floor drums and sharpening Yukimi Nagano's singularly liquid vocals.
