Kacey Musgraves enthusiast Claire Boucher bka Grimes and her longtime homie Devon Welsh bka Majical Cloudz have collaborated before and, hopefully, they'll collaborate again. But for now, here's a previously-unheard lo-fi pop song that Grimes found on her computer from 2009 and posted online yesterday. Apparently, it's about her and Welsh's overweight pet cat, Voignamir, who was on a diet at the time. It sounds like the pair made it in a couple of hours (if that), and as Boucher says in the Tumblr post, "i dont know why it sounds like indie rock haha, neither of us really make music like this." I think I genuinely like the song, though; it's the scruffy sound of two distinctive voices just fucking around.
