As it turns out, that "Flashing Lights" cover Lorde has recently slipped into her set may well be something of a warm up. According to Page Six, the young pop star is gearing-up to hit the studio with Kanye West. It's unclear if the results of their time together will end up on her next album or his. Lorde has often cited West as an influence— telling the Guardian, for example, that, "I look to Kanye for inspiration in a lot of things, and his ability to kind of reinvent and keep throwing curveballs with each record. He's able to keep things interesting, and keep people following him, after what has been quite a lengthy career." But, the admiration is apparently mutual. "He said he like the message [in my songs], which was cool," she gushed, recalling their recent run-in on the set of Later... With Jools Holland in an interview with Rolling Stone. "I was saying to myself, 'Keep cool. This is normal.'"
