“El Tigeraso” Star Maluca Mala Is Back with New Single “Trigger”
Having moved from Mad Decent to RPM MSC, the artist has got lots of new music in the works.
“Maluca Mala” means "crazy bad" in Spanish, and the artist has described what she makes as, “ghetto-techno, Latin-dance, hip-hop, rave music.” A couple years ago she opened for Robyn—whose forthcoming LP she’s actually set to be on—on tour, and released the popular, acid-inflected “El Tigeraso” single on Diplo’s Mad Decent label. Fast forward to present day, and she’s got that Robyn collaboration, an appearance on Brodinski's new LP and a new single on NYC label RPM MSC, which we're presenting here. The tune is called “Trigger,” out today, and it brings together serotonin-heavy EDM production and a reggaeton-esque beat that (really nicely) feels like it wants to go two different speeds at once. Stream it below and be on the lookout for the EP she's working on now in early 2015.
