Watch Kendrick Lamar Perform with Prince
K. Dot crashed Prince’s Yahoo-sponsored album release party livestream last night.
Last night in Minneapolis, Prince celebrated the release of his two new albums—Art Official Age and Plectrum Electrum, the later of which he recorded with his band 3RDEYEGIRL—with a webcast "record release party" for Yahoo. The 90-minute event included a tour of his Paisley Park estate, interviews with various collaborators on the albums, and, finally, a brief performance from The Purple One himself. Only three songs long, he bolstered the set with a not-so-surprise guest appearance from Kendrick Lamar. K. Dot led "What's My Name," a rarity from Prince's 1998's Crystal Ball box set, with a new verse in which he claims I'm speakin' to you, I'm speakin' to us, I'm speakin' to we, I speakin' to God. And the best part is, allegedly, there's more from these two yet to come.
