Whether they're playing their own songs in the bottom of an empty swimming pool or recording Big Star covers on an iPhone, LA duo Girlpool regularly demonstrates a flair for singing the unreal-est of harmonies. They're at it once again in this new video, which features the pair delivering a mellow, fairly gut-wrenching live cover of "Cut Your Bangs," originally by Michigan DIY rock crew Radiator Hospital; even the song's grittiest imagery—gnashing teeth, decomposing bodies—sounds semi-sweet in their hands. The performance was recorded as part of an NME session while Girlpool was in London; on that same trip, they played what one can only assume was the best gig ever, with Alex G.
