This Remix Of Drake’s “How Bout Now” Is Not What You’d Expect

One of the best parts about dance music is that it can push everything out of your brain that isn't it—time stops fidgeting and you just glaze over. Montreal-based producer Motions' "514 Rework" of Drake's "How Bout Now" handily delivers on that kind of decadent zoning. Motions is the latest signee to LA's Body High collective, founded by Samo Soundboy and Jerome LOL, and he's just moved back to his birthplace of Montreal (closer to Drake—514 is that city's area code) after living in London for a year and a half presumably soaking up lots of bass. He told The FADER a little about the remix: "I'm pretty obsessed with synthesizers," he explained. "The first time I heard 'How Bout Now,' the synths on the outro really stood out to me; I knew right away I had to re-create the track in my own way. I decided to strip the vocals completely and really focus on the melodic elements."
