BJ The Chicago Kid And Schoolboy Q Premiere “It’s True” Video
The Chicago Kid co-wrote Schooboy’s Grammy-nominated “Studio.” Here, Q returns the favor.
BJ The Chicago Kid co-wrote Schoolboy Q's Grammy-nominated "Studio," and Q has returned the favor with a guest appearance on BJ's "It's True." The song, produced by Mike & Keys and Mixed by Ali, first appeared as a hidden track on BJ's promising November bundle of loosies, The M.A.F.E. Project. As a standalone, it will be up for download on iTunes tomorrow.
"I was initially very nervous playing this track for Schoolboy Q," BJ told The FADER in an email. "It is a PSA. Its mission is to let people know that you do not have to be involved in gang-like activity to be affected by it, to be hurt or killed by it. This life is real and can hurt the most innocent of people."
BJ previously collaborated with TDE's Kendrick Lamar for a pair of tracks in 2012. His debut solo album will be released in 2015, via Motown.
