UPDATE 1/5/15 10:13 a.m.: Joey Bada$ camp has provided the following statement regarding the incident: "Joey can confirm that there was a misunderstanding with security at the Byron Falls Festival show, which resulted in charges being laid by NSW Police. After fully cooperating with Police, Joey was granted bail and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge."
Joey Bada$ has been charged with assault after allegedly punching a security guard in the face at the Falls Music Festival in Australia, The Sydney Morning Herald reports. According to a police spokeswoman, the security guard was treated for a broken nose and other facial injuries. The Pro Era rapper was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but has since been released. On Twitter, Joey warned, "Don't believe everything you see or hear. They build u up to tear you down..." His debut LP B4.DA.$ arrives January 20th.
