Psst...psst...hey man. Do you like Weed? No, I'm not talking about the drug, you fucking hippie—I'm talking about the rock band that is also vaguely stoner-y and would probably sound good while smoking weed (not that, uh, we know what that's like). "Thousand Pounds" is a thick slice of goodness that sounds like retrofitted My Bloody Valentine for the Tinder generation. I came up with that comparison while I was high—or did I? You decide. Anyway! Listen to the song below, it's really good.
"This song is about our relationship with another band in the Pacific NW who we used to be close with, but have had a falling out," the band's Will Anderson told FADER in an email. "Band friendships are really important and it's devastating to see them crumble. But the lyrics in this song are talking about how at the end of the day we still love them and are proud of them and wish it wasn't this way."
The Thousand Pound 7" is out on February 24 via Lefse—and if that's not enough Weed for that ass, their new LP Running Back comes on April 7. Check out their tour dates below, too.
