Bobby Shmurda checked in with Hot 97 this morning from the Manhattan Detention Complex—aka The Tombs—where he is being held on on gang conspiracy charges. Shmurda talked briefly about being separated from Rowdy Rebel after an altercation landed Rebel in solitary confinement. Then he began describing the infamous night he was rounded up at Squad Studios—"[The police] told me, 'I don't want my kids listening to your music,'" he says—at which point the call was abruptly cut off. "Maybe it was a technical difficulty," host Ebro Darden guesses, "but they control the line."
