Kanye West’s Yeezy Season One Lookbook Is All Filth And Flesh Tones
UPDATE 3/11/15 7:52 p.m.: Kanye's rep tells The FADER, "This is a ZINE not a look book."
Olive greens, dust browns, and off whites dominate Kanye West's first collection of apparel with adidas, dubbed Yeezy Season One, which will be trickling out to retail locations over the next year. On display in a new lookbook shot by fine-art photographer Jackie Nickerson and available at seasonzine.com, the palette gains new context: placed against chainlink fences, threaded hoses, garbage trucks, subway walls and other urban iconography, typically subtle colors pop and interplay in a way that feels at once natural and tense, suggesting streetwear that's of born of actual streets. Contorted nudity is in play too, of course, wielded more as a visual weapon than reward: backs are bent and asses are swollen, extremes that make averages seem not so bad. Check out selects below and download the zine in full.
