Copenhagen is supposedly one of the happiest cities on earth, but based on a lot of the bleak noise that creeps out of its thriving underground, you might never know it. Four-piece Communions has always operated on the slightly cheerier side of things, and the first single from their new self-titled EP is probably the smoothest, earworm-iest thing they've put out. The lyrics are hopelessly lovesick—You're the queen of your scene, and I'm just watching through a screen—but the heart-bursting, power-pop melody keeps things feeling generally optimistic. "It's about the strange first sensation of meeting someone new and the way it can make you feel like anything is possible," the band told FADER in an email. "For the first time it feels like we are beginning to discover our sound, and 'Out of My World' is an expression of that." The whole EP is out June 2nd on London-based label Tough Love.
