Last year, UK electro-pop enigma Ben Khan cut a promising figure with his debut EP, 1992—and on May 11, he returns with his second effort, 1000, which sees release on May 11 via Blessed Vice. New cut "Zenith" is full of dirty guitar and low-slung funk, exactly the type of gold we've come to expect from Khan. "A superhero goes to die by lying on the sun," Khan, cryptic as ever, told FADER in an email. "Ashamed of what he has done, he begs his love for forgiveness so he can return. But his fate is sealed, and he slowly burns to death. What he has done is not to be made clear. The term 'Zenith' can be used to describe the highest point of ones success. But in this story, the Zenith reached is the astrological point where he meets his demise on the sun."
