Darkstar Pay Tribute to Mark Bell With Reverent Remix Of LFO
The UK duo’s newest creation is as thoughtful and cathartic as ever.
Today Darkstar debuts their heavy-lidded remix of LFO's "We Are Back" in honor of Mark Bell's passing last year. The duo's beat-driven take on the '90s electro track holds the tonal chill of a hymn: cold but beautiful in its rumination. The remix features on their recently released mixtape Kirklees Arcadia, the first new original material we've heard from the Warp-signed band since their second album News From Nowhere in 2013.
"Last year at Warp's 25th Anniversary show we were lucky enough to play the set before Mark Bell and spent some time with him after his show," Darkstar told The FADER. "We actually played an earlier version of this remix ("We Are Back") that night. His set that night was amazing and to be there on the birthday and see LFO in all it's glory was perfect.
