Leon Bridges’ “River” Is One More Reason To Be Excited For June 23

Buzzy R&B crooner Leon Bridges' major label debut, Coming Home, arrives on June 23 via Columbia Records. Its effortless title track has already racked up more than 3.6 million Spotify streams and is perhaps the only 2015 Song of Summer contender that you and your grandparents can all agree on. But beyond "Coming Home," we've heard less than a handful of songs from the 20-something Texan (notable exceptions: "Lisa Sawyer," "Better Man"). After premiering today in a Beats by Dre ad, his latest track "River" makes four. "River" is the exact sort of timeless number we've come to expect from Bridges—maybe a little sparer, with shades of gospel—and it's one more reason we're looking forward to June 23.
