Stormzy Warns His Detractors To “Shut Up” In New Freestyle
“Yeah I’m the best, I’m so cocky/ I got a mob like A$AP Rocky.”
In a Q&A with 21-year-old Stormzy—a grime artist from South London who was in the group of rappers on stage with Kanye when he debuted "All Day" at the Brit awards—FADER asked the MC what was on his plate next. "I'm just gonna carry on merking," he replied. As a part of that effort, he released a new freestyle today titled "Shut Up." Stormzy spits over "Functions On The Low," a legendary early grime instrumental; while the rhymes are fast and furious, the clip stays casual. Shot by Jaiden Ramgeet (who also worked on the video for Stormzy's first single), it's just the MC in a park with his friends, who serve as supporters and occasional backing vocalists.
