Go-to Atlanta rap photographer Cam Kirk is planning a pop-up show to display a number of never-before-seen pictures of Gucci Mane. This is not your average, staid photography exhibit: Kirk set it up in an abandoned church in Atlanta, and he promises a live-action element as well. He told Mass Appeal: “It’s going to be more of an installation… I’ve got actors in there; they’re going to play certain roles when you walk in. So it’s going to take shape of like a haunted house feeling, where you walk in and there are different things to experience. It should feel like you literally walked in to the house of the Trap God.”
Kirk actually planned to show the photos in another location at first. “I originally had another trap house—it was strictly a trap house—in East Atlanta,” he said. “I was super excited about it, and a couple of days before I was going to announce, the house got raided. But, it was a real trap house. That was as authentic as it could get. I wasn’t happy that happened. But I’m thankful that I was able to find [a location] that actually takes the vision to even another level."
The exhibit opens in Atlanta on May 30th, and it’s free. Check out FADER’s behind-the-scenes feature with Kirk on Young Thug and Travi$ Scott’s recent Rodeo tour.
