It might have started as a novelty, but Canadian songwriter Lucas DiPasquale is apparently doing this dancehall thing for real. He got island-wide support last summer for his acoustic Popcaan covers and mastery of heavy Jamaican patois, and it wasn't long before Popcaan was bringing him out on stage to gun-finger salutes. Today, his artist peers are still supporting: the diasporic trio of London's Stylo G, Jamaica's Konshens, and fellow Canadian Kardinal Official bolster DiPasquale's latest heater, "Do It Like," seemingly boosted by Universal Canada. You a di baddest gyal pon di island, so no compare me to di average white man, DiPasquale warns—not exactly devilry, but hot nonetheless.
