Young Thug’s Having The Time Of His Life In His “Halftime” Video

Yesterday Young Thug released the video for “Halftime,” a hypnotic highlight from his recent Barter 6 project. The principal melody in the track sounds like it was plucked out on the lone string of a broken guitar. At one point Thug raps, "having the time of my motherfuckin' life / I'm gonna buy everything I want, I can't think twice," and that couplet seems to be the inspiration for the clip, directed by Be El Be. It's filmed up-close with a shaky, hand-held camera work—sometimes the frame drifts out of focus—that intensifies Thug's natural chaotic energy.
