Popcaan Is Gloriously Inebriated On “Never Sober”

Popcaan's previous release, “Unruly Prayer,” was a soft, gentle ballad, but he changes directions on “Never Sober,” a bouncy, effervescent new track. Synths lurch unpredictably here, helping convey the drunken happiness Popcaan describes. As the song progresses, it picks up a number of pleasant details—a strange, squirting synth line, a whooshing sound, delicate touches of harmony.
