Future was not on the bill to perform at the Pitchfork Music Festival at Chicago's Union Park yesterday, which is clearly an unacceptable oversight on the behalf of the promoters considering the fire that is DS2. (No matter, considering he just announced that he'll be playing a free show in Chi-City on Tuesday.) That being said, Vic Mensa was on deck with a rendition of the Monster mixtape closer "Codeine Crazy" during his Pitchfork set. Mensa's band trades in TM88's woozy production for their own minimalistic, guitar-heavy take. I'm personally hoping this sparks a trend of festival performers carving out several minutes of their set to do a Future cover.
