MTV announced the 2015 VMA nominations with help from Beats 1 this morning. Nicki Minaj earned a "Best Collaboration" nod for her work with Ariana Grande and Jessie J on "Bang Bang," along with "Best Hip-Hop Video" and "Best Female Performance" nominations for "Anaconda." But the singer/rapper was shut out of the "Video Of The Year" category, and her impressive video with Beyoncé for "Feeling Myself" did not receive a single nomination.
Minaj pointed this out via Twitter. First, she graciously thanked MTV for acknowledging her. Then she asked, "Did Feeling Myself miss the deadline or ...?" She also retweeted some supportive words from her followers, who pointed out that "Anaconda" set Vevo records, and added, "If I was a different 'kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well."
One fan summed it up in simple terms: "WTF KIND OF BULLSHIT IS THIS?!"
