Each month, The FADER team compiles our favorite new songs, both celebrated and slept-on. July is always one of the hottest months of the year, so it’s no surprise that there were plenty of fire releases in rotation. The most notable tracks were from the 6 god himself, Drake--he dropped a freestyle with our 98th issue cover star Skepta (we feature their funky remix to “Ojuelegba”), was featured on fellow Canadian artist Roy Wood$’ smooth jam, “Drama,” and he directly handled the beef that has been brewing between him and Meek Mill on diss tracks “Back To Back” and “Charged Up.” While it’s been a huge month for the whole OVO camp with the launch of OVO Sound Beats 1 and OVO Fest on the horizon, the #FutureHive was buzzing after the Atlanta-based rapper dropped his latest album, DS2. We absolutely had to include the album track “I Serve the Base.” We’re also spotlighting Chinah, an emerging Danish indie-R&B fusion group with their tune “Away From Me.” Stream all of these smokin’ songs on our July 2015 playlist below.
