He's been down for a minute, but Collie Buddz is looking to come back strong this Friday with the release of his Blue Dreamz EP. The project, which was recorded in one burst after a creatively fruitful trip to Jamaica, is about "getting back to the roots, that raw Reggae sound," as Buddz told The FADER. It takes its name from Buddz favorite strain, and is for the hustlers, the herbalists, and the (wait for it) Ted 2 fans: "We’ve all dreamed of that field in Ted 2," he joked.
The first single off the EP is "Like Yuh Miss Me," a song about delayed gratification—or what Buddz calls "I missed you" love. "Everyone can relate, whether it was a long day or a quick business trip," he explained. "In my case, I’m gone for weeks at a time. It’s beautiful, it’s that little spice everyone needs in their relationship."
Remember—summer's not officially over until the 23rd. So crank the volume and hit play below; you know yuh missed him.
