"Talk About It" comes right after "Intro" on Compton. This is an important spot on any record—first impressions matter. But it was especially crucial that Dre make a strong statement right away, since Compton was his first full-length since 1999. "Talk About It" proved up to the task, with a fearsome, jaw-rattling beat (partially-produced by DJ Dahi) and plenty of bluster from Dre: I was getting money 'fore the internet/ Still got Eminem checks I ain't opened yet/ MVP shit, this is where the trophies at.
