Hot on the heels of his Bomba Estéreo remix, Will Smith stopped by Beats 1 for an interview with Zane Lowe. "I've been away doing some other stuff," Smith joked about his decade away from music. "Making kids, you know."
The actor/rapper also explained the origin of the "Fiesta" remix. "I love that thing, man. I was in Columbia with Marc Anthony—he was doing a couple concerts, so I rolled down with him. Bomba Estéreo had this record called 'Fuego.' I was like, 'yo, that joint is crazy… almost completely unrelated, my manager was friends with the head of their record company. And I heard that 'Fiesta' joint and I was like, 'OK: I'm on it.' They keep pulling me back in!"
Over the course of a 20 minute conversation, Smith spoke about recording on his iPhone (advice from Jaden), aging ("50 might be the new 30"), and his love for travel. Speaking of travel: "I'm pretty certain I'm going on tour," Smith told Lowe. "Jeff and I have never actually done a full tour. I'm looking for this summer to the first time we go out on a world tour. I'm terrified."
