Idris Elba Made An Album Inspired By His Character On Luther

One of Idris Elba's best on-screen characters is John Luther, a detective who frequently bends, breaks, and otherwise manhandles the law but always catches the bad guys. Elba also has a musical background: he used to DJ to help pay his rent; he released an album in 2014 inspired by Nelson Mandela; and he hopped on Skepta's "Shutdown" earlier this year.

His latest musical endeavor is Murdah Loves John, a full-length dedicated to the protagonist of Luther. He recruited a number of guests for the project, including Wretch 32, Shakka, and Tom Meighan from the rock band Kasabian. Check out "Sinner Man" and the title track below.
