The honors keep coming in for Kendrick Lamar. He was recently invited to meet with President Obama at The White House, and now the rapper will receive a key to the city of his native Compton in a ceremony on February 13. The city's mayor Aja Brown tweeted her congratulations to Lamar today:

(Kendrick's response refers to Compton's nickname of “Hub City.”)
He's also previously been honored as a “generational icon” on the floor of the California senate. The ceremony takes place two days before The Grammys, where he's nominated for 11 trophies. Listen to Kendrick discuss his heritage in an interview with NPR below.
