Michael Tanner Phillips, bodyguard for Future, was shot and killed this afternoon in Jonesboro, Georgia, as reported by Fox 5 Atlanta and posted on Complex.
Police have not established a suspect or a motive in the shooting. Neighbours reported hearing arguing inside Phillips' residence prior to the gunfire.
Phillips' wife was inside the residence when the shooting took place, but did not witness it. They were married recently, and were expecting a child. The news anchor notes that, in addition to being a rapper's bodyguard, Michael “played the piano at his mother's church.”
