Prince has announced, via a press release from his publishers Spiegel and Grau, that he will be releasing a memoir in fall of 2017, Rolling Stone reports. The book will be Prince's first and will discuss the "people, places and ideas that fired his imagination," according to the statement.
"Prince is a towering figure in global culture and his music has been the soundtrack for untold numbers of people — including me — for more than a generation; his creative genius has provided the musical landscape of our lives," said Chris Jackson, Spiegel and Grau Executive Editor.
Update (3/18, 9:27 p.m.): Pitchfork reports that Prince has announced the title of his memoir tonight at a press conference in New York City. The memoir will be titled The Beautiful Ones which takes its name from the third track off of the Purple Rain album. Apparently, the memoir will span Prince's entire life up until his performance at the 2007 Super Bow halftime show.
