Vybz Kartel plans to put out a new full-length this summer. King Of The Dancehall came together with the help of producer Linton ‘TJ’ White of TJ Records, and according to Kartel's Twitter account, the record arrives June 10.
"King Of The Dancehall is not just a 14-song compilation," the singer said in a statement to Urban Islandz. "It's a masterpiece, an album that encompasses the very essence of Adidja Palmer and, by extension, the Jamaican experience." "King Of The Dancehall will reinforce Vybz Kartel's status as not just another self-proclaimed king, but as the people’s champion," he continued. "The man who has created a movement like no other in dancehall."
Kartel is currently behind bars. His last album, Viking (Vybz Is King), arrived in 2015.
