G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T was the songwriter behind McDonalds's famous "I'm Lovin' It" jingle, claimed Steve Stoute of TheStashed in a new interview on Hot 97, spotted by XXL.
Like Ebro, you probably thought that Justin Timberlake and Pharrell were the ones behind the tune, but Stoute credited Pusha T with writing the jingle for Stoute's marketing agency Translation. “You know who did that? Pusha T. That’s crazy that Pusha T wrote the song for McDonalds.” Stoute was unable to recall how much they made from the campaign, though. “I can’t remember the money [they were paid]. It was 11 years ago. Nobody was upset.” Watch the exchange above; The FADER has reached out a rep for Pusha T for comment.
The first single from Pusha T's upcoming King Push album, "Drug Dealers Anonymous" featuring Jay Z, dropped this week. Here's how Pusha got Jay Z's feature.
Update: June 2, 4:57 p.m.: When asked if Pusha T wrote the jingle, a representative confirmed "It's true."
