"Pink Panther Papi" is how one follower referred to Drake after he posted three pictures of himself wearing a pastel colored soccer jersey on Instagram last night, June 7. The shirt in question is Italian champions Juventus' 2015-2016 away kit, with Drake's shirt customised to include the name and number of the team's French midfielder Paul Pogba. OVO has been embracing baby pink recently, with flashes of the color appearing in their Summer 2016 lookbook.
Drake's version of the shirt is edited slightly with kit designer adidas's logo removed, or possibly just photoshopped, from the front of the shirt. Drake, of course, has a long standing relationship with Nike. The affiliation with Pogba is interesting too: the French player is known for his wild hairstyles and celebrates scoring a goal by hitting the dab. It's worth pointing out that Awful Records' rapper Father wore this same Juventus shirt back in September 2015, but then Drake is not known for being loyal to just one soccer team.
The FADER reached out to Juventus for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
