Rapper Freddie Gibbs was arrested last week in Toulouse by French police on a rape charge stemming from an incident in 2015. He will remain in custody there for another week, according to a report from FACT. The original rape charge arrest warrant was issued by Austria.
According to the AFP, Gibbs's lawyer Michael Malka said in a hearing, "He (Gibbs) categorically denies the accusations made against him in Austria. He is even very surprised that Austria could act on this a year later, while he was on tour in Europe.”
Gibbs's manager Ben Lambert has consistently been tweeting in support of his client. After this news broke yesterday he tweeted the definition of "alleged".
