In early March, Top Dawg Entertainment executive Anthony Tiffith posted a picture of TDE's 2016 release plans, which mentioned two mysterious future signees referred to as "John Doe 1" and "John Doe 2." After some fan speculation about who the mystery additions could be, Kembe X's latest tweets hints that he will be joining the TDE roster, which boasts Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, and SZA, among other artists.
Last night, the Chicago rapper tweeted "TDE," followed by a selfie of him wearing a TDE chain. While there is no formal announcement from TDE that Kembe X is slated for a release under the label, Kembe's tweets seem to suggest that a project is in the works.
Representatives for TDE and Kembe X were not immediately available for comment.
Update, 6/19/16, 4:30 p.m.: Anthony Tiffith denies that Kembe X is the newest TDE signee.
After noticing that Kembe X was generating buzz about his rumored TDE associations, TDE founder, Anthony Tiffith, went to Twitter to dispel any rumors. Tiffith first jokes, "Jus woke up n found out I signed Kembe X." He then suggests that Kembe X is not signed to TDE by clarifying, "When I signed something new I will let y'all know... Kembe X is a friend of the family.."
