In 2011, The BasedGod, a spiritual entity who speaks through rapper Lil B, levied a curse on now-former Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant after he insulted Lil B. The rapper said Durant would never win an NBA championship until he agreed to play Lil B in a game of 21. But this morning, Durant announced that he'd signed with the Golden State Warriors, and Lil B revealed on Twitter that one of the internet's best ongoing memes has finally come to an end. "As life unravels and superstars make decisions that change lifes, welcome home KD the curse is lifted," Lil B tweeted.
Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder have not won a title since the curse was issued. The BasedGod told Lil B as recently as June that a move to the Warriors wouldn't undo the curse. But since the Warriors are Lil B's hometown team, perhaps the BasedGod was merciful on his messenger.
