London-based artist Rushmore knows something about having a hard work ethic. For years he's been behind the scenes of the city's vogue community running the beloved club night House of Trax, as well as managing his offshoot record label and merch line Trax Couture. On July 29, he'll finally get round to releasing his debut album Ours After, a lovingly curated mish-mash of footwork, trap, and grime sounds.
The low-slung album stand-out "Grindin' All Day," featuring L.A.-based rappers Cam & China, is testament to all three artists' slow but steady hustle. As Rushmore put it in an email to The FADER, he was drawn to the twins by their "determined, confident flow," and found that "their lyrics resonate with my work ethic." When asked what this track means to them, Cam & China added: "Hard work is a necessity, success is determined by discipline, and to never stop is something we were taught from an early age.” Listen below.
