It's been one week since DJ Khaled dropped his highly-anticipated ninth studio album, Major Key, and with the album already on track to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 you could say the social media god is feeling the love. In fact, that love began even before the LP dropped when Khaled publicly thanked 90s hip-hop group Fugees for supporting his new album by clearing a sample of their classic track, "Fu-Gee-La," for Major Key standout "Nas Album Done."
And the circle of good feelings seems to be unending: Earlier today, Lauryn Hill issued an equally public thank you to Khaled for giving Fugees a shout out on his new album, writing, "DJ Khaled, thank you for that acknowledgement. Thank you and Nas for blessing up the chune lol."
According to Complex, when Nas and Khaled were troubleshooting the tune, which refers to a possibly complete new album from the Brooklyn rapper, he personally reached out to Hill about sampling the track and got her approval. "I just wanted to get her blessing and we were good," Nas told Complex earlier this month.
