Bieber posted pictures of him with Richie in recent weeks, with many Instagram users leaving insults in the comment section. "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand," he wrote on the final picture that he posted. "If you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like." Bieber's relationship with his fans has already proven to be a contentious issue this year, with the pop star announcing he would no longer pose for pictures with them in May.
