Choreographer Parris Goebel Launches Solo Music Career With “Nasty”

The mastermind behind Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” video has music of her own.

Parris Goebel, the a 24-year-old choreographer from New Zealand who directed, choreographed, and starred in the music video for Justin Bieber's "Sorry," has had the spotlight on her for a long time, but now she's got music of her own. Goebel, who makes music under the name Parri$, has arrived with her new single "Nasty," which is premiering on The FADER today.

The track features Parri$ rapping confidently over a booming beat, you already know about me/ I'm the one they want to be. In the video, Parri$ and a troupe of her best dancers take to the woods and Parri$ directed the video in New Zealand and explained to The FADER over email that it was important to her to capture the beauty of her home country.

"The concept was to embrace the natural feel of New Zealand, and I wanted to shoot on a farm while the sun was setting," she said. "All the dancers — who are part of my core squad — were wearing clothing that was made to feel fresh and raw to represent the beautiful outdoors of our country."

The song is off her debut project Run & Tell Your Friends, which is scheduled for an October 17 release. Watch the video above.
