This weekend saw Lil Wayne post a number of worrying tweets in which he stated he was “defenseless and mentally defeated.” The tweets caught him in a low moment and hinted that he was retiring, though Wayne later clarified that he was "good" in a bid to calm his fans. Since those messages, the rap world has rallied around Weezy. Chance The Rapper was among the first to reach out while Drake brought his mentor out on stage in Houston on Sunday.
Now Young Thug has joined in, posting a couple of emotional tweets about an artist he has a long and complicated history with. "I promise I'm holding u down no matter what… fuck the world and what they think\feel I'm with u for life, ur the reason I rap," read the first tweet. "I just wish u could love me the way I love u big bro… ur my idol for life and I hope ur sorry for bashing me, not knowing how much I love u."
