Earlier this year, Bay Area duo Kalin and Myles announced they were taking a break from making music together. Now Kalin White, 21, is gearing up for the fall release of a solo project. “Twisted” is the fluttery lead single, and its video, directed by David Camarena, debuts above.
“’Twisted’ is about me approaching a female that I've had my eyes on throughout the night at a club and trying to take the party somewhere else with her,” White said to The FADER via email. “Sometimes I'm too shy to speak up but there are other times where I can't let shorty go.”
“My choice to go solo was the best decision I could have made,” he continued. “I’m a strong believer in everything happening for a reason. I'm in a dope place in my life right now. I'm happier than I've ever been and I genuinely love the music I'm making now. There's nobody to tell me that my ideas aren't good enough anymore. On a creative level, I'm free and excited to grow as an artist.”
Kalin headlines two shows in California in October; tickets are available now.
