Canadian bar rock breakouts July Talk have an exhilarating video for their latest single "Beck + Call," which features throat singer and artist Tanya Tagaq, and it's premiering today on The FADER. Inspired by Toronto performance group Quote Unquote's production "Mouthpiece," the black-and-white clip places the band's Leah Fay and Peter Dreimanis in a factory setting as they contort their bodies to represent the emotions of a corrupted relationship, with a bit of telekentic battling thrown in.

"We set out to create a movement piece that explored the song's themes regarding the common unbalance of power dynamics in modern relationships," July Talk told The FADER over email. The video is a collaboration between our longtime collaborator and brilliant director, Jared Raab, and theatre creators Norah Sadava + Amy Nostbakken, who co-founded the wildly brave and bold Quote Unquote Collective. Jared really wanted to direct something minimal with the song because of its sparse, driving arrangement featuring Tanya Tagaq's emotive, rhythmic vocal tracks. The main thesis in the song culminates when we scream, 'blind love in dark bedrooms, find love within confusion'. We hope the video illustrates the frustration born out of existing underneath your lover's thumb."
