In June, the organizers behind Governors Ball announced The Meadows Music and Art Festival to be held October 1 and 2 in Queens, New York. The Weeknd was originally scheduled to headline the festival on Saturday, October 1, despite an initial scheduling conflict with his guest appearance on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. On Friday, the Toronto singer announced that he would not be able to appear at the festival, citing new curfew changes and scheduling." J. Cole was added as a headlining act earlier in September.
Representatives for The Meadows and The Weeknd were not immediately available for comment.
